Sail and Work Experience
Aldo's path into yachting began as a Deckhand on the container Ro-Ro Ship JOLLY NERO before moving onto working as a Deck Cadet and Third Officer on the tankers SANTA AUGUSTA and SANTA ANNA PRIMA respectively between the years of 1979 to 1981. Having then gained experience in maintenance, repair and refitting at the 'Tecnocantieri - Almarine' in Savona, Aldo then became a Captain for an Italian owner of 3 yachts just over a decade later. With this impressive feat, Aldo then continued to work as a captain on several large motor yachts managing a crew ranging from 3 to 7 members for the next couple of years. He has sailed in various destinations from the Mediterranean to the Far East. He now joins SEA SEVEN excited for a jam-packed calendar of charters for this summer.
Job Description
Aldo is responsible for navigation, safety, the overall running and financial management of the vessel, crew and guests. He ensures the safe and efficient
operation of the yacht at all times, including compliance with all safety procedures and regulations. He takes care of adhering to flag regulations, port state and local
laws and regulations, and manages the crew to ensure adherence to, and a full understanding of, the vessel’s policies. Amongst his crew, he encourages teamwork, individual growth and personal attention by delegating duties and supervising all crew tasks.
